In the autumn of 1967 a young man of 16 years old named Nicola arrived to the US from a small town called Bellona, near Naples Italy. Nicola felt the greatest honor to be able to finally come to such a beautiful, prosperous country called America. In his heart he carried a drive to fulfill his dream to be successful in whatever he attempted. Shortly after settling in Cambridge, Massachusetts he met his future bride Mary. Before turning 21 years of age Nicola and Mary set out to establish a small corner store on the corner of Clark and Lowell street, legal address 1215 Massachusetts, Arlington, Massachusetts.
The Grand Opening day of Nicola Pizza House was January 15,1972.
The first three hours consisted of samples of food such as pizza and subs given to "soon to be patrons" of Nicola Pizza House. God's blessings definitely shined on Nicola Pizza House that day, because it wasn't long after the free samples came to an end that the phones at Nicola Pizza House began ringing constantly and Mary who had stopped by to simply wish her husband Nicola "The Best" found herself behind the counter receiving orders along side of her husband Nicola (doing things she had no idea of). Nicola Pizza House soon after became a family business combining both Nicky and Mary's natural talents of Italian cooking and baking mixed with a zest of humor and personality. Such a winning combination that the patrons of Nicola Pizza House could not resist. Nicky and Mary never imagined they would be there for many, many years to come.
Today Nicola Pizza House has grown to such a huge popularity that Nicola soon acquired the entire corner lot located at the same location of Clark and Lowell Street where he once begun. Nicola has extended his menu today to also include retail items such as his Amazing Creamy Italian salad dressing, Secret Receipe Italian Sauce "to go" (prepared to order) along with a variety of Italian cookies, biscotti's and pasteries. Customers have raved about these new items and have shared many combination of cooking additives as well as dipping favorites for the dressing and sauce.
Original owners since 1972 Nicola (Nicky) and his faithful wife Mary still today cook up a variety of homemade Italian favorites, like their mouth watering homemade thin and double dough Pizza, Speciality Pizza's, and an array of Italian dinners and tasty Specialty subs and wraps. Nicola Pizza House has been widely recognized for their tasty Italian homemade menu and pleasant atmosphere! (Original Owners for over 35 years).
